Are the fish biting after all the rain we have had in Central Texas?  Don’t miss the upcoming meeting to find out…………………….

Tournament Results:

Our August tournament on Lake Travis challenged every participant to find fish that would bite.  Nine teams participated and only 3 fishermen caught a limit of 5 fish.  Mike Wiles and Brooks Griffith took first place with 5 fish that weighed 11.20 pounds.  Second place went to Al Lykins and Tom Clark who caught 6 fish weighing 10.70 pounds.  Carlton Yarbrough had the biggest stringer, four fish weighing 7.95 pounds.

Top Ten Standings:

Mike Wiles-  72.80 pounds                                      Darryl Smith- 56.98 pounds
Jim Pollard- 70.58 pounds                                      Roger Growden- 50.73 pounds
Al Lykins- 70.13 pounds                                           Mitch Shelton- 48.67 pounds
Gib Hoffman- 59.63 pounds                                    Carlton Yarbrough- 47.94 pounds
Tom Clark- 57.30 pounds                                        Brooks Griffith- 43.75 pounds
Darryl Smith still has the lead for Big Bass of the 3rd Quarter, but that may change by the conclusion of the TABC State Tournament at Choke Canyon Reservoir the last weekend of this month.

September Meeting and Tournament:

Our September meeting will be next Thursday, September 16th.  The tournament will be Saturday, 9/18/10.  I will be seeking two volunteers to bring refreshments to our meeting next Thursday.

Club News:

The garage sale will be the first Saturday in October rather than the second Saturday.  Put a reminder on your calendar (10/4/10) because that is only three weekends from now.  Please contact Brian Kitchen if you have large items for the garage sale so he can coordinate the delivery of the items to his home with you.

Don’t forget a new fishing license is required as of September 1st of the year.

Fishing Reports:

I heard one good fishing report recently from Jim Pollard.  He and his wife went to Stillhouse Hollow and they had a pretty good bite fishing the grass in shallow water.  Most of the bass were small but they had a good time catching some fish.  Al Lykins and T.V. Minner went to Lake Austin one morning recently and they caught a few fish above City Park.  Time to get back on the water!  I hope to see you next Thursday at the meeting.
