October Meeting and Tournaments:
We have two club tournaments scheduled for October. The regular monthly club meeting is Thursday, October 14th, at 7:00pm. The regular monthly club tournament is Saturday, 10/16/2010. We also have a make up tournament scheduled for Saturday, October 30th. We will choose the lakes, times, and partners for each of these tournaments at the upcoming meeting. Mike Wiles and Dale White have volunteered to bring refreshments to the meeting.
Club News:
The club garage sale planned for October 9th had to be rescheduled due to Brian Kitchen’s busy schedule. It is now planned for the second weekend in November, which is November 13th. There is still plenty of time to donate items for the garage sale which will be held at Brian Kitchen’s home in central Austin.
Fishing Reports:
The water is cooling off and fishing is improving. Art Cruser has informed me that he had several good trips to Lake Travis recently where he caught lots of fish using a shad color crankbait. Mike Wiles used a shallow running crankbait to catch fish on a recent trip to Stillhouse Hollow Lake. Other reports I have read on various fishing forums indicate the cooler weather is improving the fishing and catching. FYI, the club has fished these lakes this year in this order: Bastrop, Fayette County, O.H. Ivie, Decker, Travis, LBJ, Travis, and Decker. I’ll see you Thursday at the club meeting.
