Club News:

Things slow down in the summertime so I don’t have any news to share.

Couples Club News:

The Couples Club had their May tournament at Choke Canyon and four teams participated.  Some quality fish were caught while pre-fishing for the tournament.  Tournament day was hot and breezy and resulted in fewer and smaller fish being caught.  The June tournament was moved from Decker Lake to Bastrop Lake due to the Danskin event.  Six couples participated, but the fishing was tough.  The following table shows the standings after four tournaments:

Fishing Report:

I have a few fishing reports to share.  Several members have been fishing on Lake Austin and they had some success.  There is thick grass above City Park and fishing some shorelines can be challenging due to the thick grass.  Punching the grass with a heavy jig or heavy Tx. rigged plastic can be an effective way to catch bass.  Jim Pollard recently caught a 24.5” bass on Lake Austin using a weightless Tx. rigged Senko.  Lake Travis has been producing some fish early on top water baits and night time fishing has also been productive.
