January Tournament:

Our first meeting of the year will be on Thursday, January 17th, at 7:00pm.  The January tournament will be Saturday, January 19, 2013.

Club News:

As we begin the year, club dues and some optional fees will be due.  I have also attached the Membership Form for 2013 which shows the different amounts that each member should pay.

Our annual awards banquet is planned for February 2, 2013 at the Twin Oaks Ranch in Buda, Tx.  Mike Hastings has agreed to be our guest speaker and I’m sure we will all enjoy the fellowship and food that is planned for us.  The cost for attending the banquet is $5.00 per member and spouses who attend will have their meal covered by the club.  I hope everyone makes plans to attend.  We will be attempting to get an accurate head count at the upcoming meeting so plenty of food will be prepared for those attending.

Don’t forget that we will be picking the lake and the month that we will have our spring travel tournament this year.  We need to make this decision so members can make reservations.

Fishing Report:

I have fished Lake Bastrop twice this month and one trip was really fun with a good bite in the hot water discharge and the second trip was good, but the bite was much slower.  The big difference was LCRA was generating the morning of the first trip and there was current in the hot water discharge.  I do know that on the day of my second trip to Bastrop, another boat was successful catching bass using an unweighted watermelon red fluke and fishing it along the windblown reed lines.  I hope some of you have a good fishing report to share with everyone at the upcoming meeting.  I’ll see you Thursday at the meeting.
