July Meeting and Tournament:

Our July meeting will be this Thursday, July 18, 2013 at 7:00pm.  Our July tournament will be on Saturday, July 20, 2013.  This month’s club meeting will be on the 3rd floor of the Education Bldg. which is located on the opposite side of the gym from the room where we previously held our meeting.  This will be the room we will use in the future.  The club is providing refreshments at this month’s meeting.

Club News:

There are no upcoming events, only hot weather.  Praise  God for the wonderful rain we are getting this week.  Our trees, grass, and wildlife will really benefit from the good soaking.  Perhaps Lake Travis will rise a little.

Fishing Report:

I know Art Cruser is ready to fish Lake LBJ again.  He and Dennis Milligan had a great night fishing trip hitting the underwater lights.  They caught several big bass but Art’s big girl hit a green pumpkin worm at 3:30am.  Jim Pollard and I fished Lake LBJ the night of July 9th and Jim caught several nice fish between 18 and 20.5” long.  He was throwing several different baits including a 10” black/blue fleck worm and a 7” Rage redbug worm.  Mike Wiles got in on the big bass action while night fishing on Lake Austin recently.  He sent me a picture of his 9.6# bass that he caught.  Of course, he didn’t say where or how he caught her.  I hope to see everyone at the meeting this Thursday.  Bring your fishing report to the meeting and plan on fishing for some of the big bass that enjoy a late night meal.
