Club News:

At the April club meeting we discussed how to handle pairing club members when there is a shortage of riggers for a tournament. The discussion during the April meeting supported giving priority to club members who were present at the meeting versus club members who were absent from the meeting. The proposed changes to the club constitution are shown in bold print and one revision has been incorporated giving club members attending club meetings priority over members who are not attending the club meeting. We will discuss this proposed change to the club constitution and vote on it at the upcoming meeting.

IV.9- Teams will consist of two members selected at the monthly club meeting or paired by the Tournament Director. Add: Paring of members outside of the draw must receive “prior” approval from the Tournament Director or Club President.

Add: IV.9a When the number of riggers in the draw is less than the number of non-riggers, the Tournament Director will make every effort at the meeting to identify additional riggers. If he is unable to do so, excess non-riggers may find their own partner. For excess non-riggers, the Tournament Director will make every effort to assist the non-rigger(s) find a partner. Priority in the draw will be given to members attending the meeting. Those remaining, if any, will get first priority at the next monthly meeting. This will be recorded in the club meeting minutes.

IV.11  A club member may fish in a tournament with an invited guest or alone providing that no member of the club wishing to fish will be prevented from fishing. Add: (Such an arrangement must be cleared with the Tournament Director or Club President prior to the meeting. It is incumbent on this member to resolve the problem if this arrangement will prevent a member from fishing). The member/guest team must pay the team tournament entry fee.

Fishing Reports:

I have heard the fish are biting on Lake Austin, but beware of the boat traffic. The fish were not biting very well on Stillhouse Hollow last Saturday. The lake is full and the hydrilla is growing in many areas of the lake, but the bite is slow. Share your fishing reports at the upcoming meeting and plan on doing some night fishing. The lake is not crowded and the temperature is great.
