Club News:

The Roger Growden Memorial Heroes Night Out fishing event was a huge success again this year.  Each year it gets a little bigger and better in that sponsors played an important role in making it a success.  Sam’s Club provided a gift card to help purchase the food, Lews and Strike King provided rods, reels, lures, and caps for the veterans, and many club members as well as other volunteers from other clubs ensured that each veteran had a great time while on the water.  Steve Martinez wants to thank everyone in the club who participated and a special thanks to Art Cruser for his efforts to coordinate with the staff of Heroes Night Out and with Sam’s Club.

Couples Club:

The October Couples Club tournament was Saturday, October 5th , and it was a nice day to catch some fish on Decker Lake.  I don’t have any results at this time.

Fishing Reports:

The Retiree Club fished Lake Bastrop on Thursday, October 10th, and the fishing was good although many short fish were caught.  Plan to share your fishing reports with everyone at the upcoming meeting.  I will see you at the meeting next Thursday evening.
